Persian spear, Qajar Revival

A Persian spear, from the Qajar Revival, mid 1800's. The head shows a lineal laminate steel with the faint remains of an etched design, mostly on one side. The fittings are newer - tapered hardwood shaft with carved grip, antique agricultural spike used as a buttspike, and a modern reproduction wooden scabbard for the head, covered in cobra skin. The spear is wonderfully balanced, it just flows and feels great in the hand.
