Measurements
A composite weapon from antique parts, brought back to life by weaponsmith Tom Hyle. The blade is German made for English export in the late 1700's - quite similar to many Ceylonese swords that the British East India Tea Company exported for native use in the late 1700's. Blade is marked "Me fecit Salingen", with x's and crosses in between the words. Double-fullered blade has been resharpened many times over it's working life, is still very sharp and light. The guard is from a circa 1800 hunting sword. The sheath is a modern reproduction, wooden with brass fittings and patterned leather. This beastie is a joy to hold and swing - the grip is perfect, and the weapon is light and fast.
