A quality reproduction Model 1853 socket bayonet, designed for the Enfield Pattern 1853 Rifle-Musket (also known as the Pattern 1853 Enfield, P53 Enfield, and Enfield Rifle-Musket), a British .577 caliber Minie-type muzzle-loading rifle that was also used by both the North and the South in the American Civil War. The Enfield musket was the second most widely used infantry weapon in the war (surpassed only by the Springfield Model 1861). Every soldier also carried a bayonet to fit the musket, and that's what has been reproduced here. The M1853 Enfield bayonet comes complete with a brass mounted leather scabbard and belt frog.
