The first generation CAS /Paul Chen / Hanwei practical Norman sword. Current available version is the Practical Norman sword 2nd generation.

This arming sword is primo - the blade features a wide central fuller for strength and lightness, with shallow fullers separating the rounded-edge blunt edges - no more armor or sword nicks! The blade is 1065 high-carbon steel, hardened to 50HRC, with a 1/16" edge and rounded tip. The tang is substantial, with radiused corners at the blade shoulders and no welds. The end of the tang is peened through the pommel (see closeup above). The ribbed leather-covered grip gives great control. The tea-cosy/brazil-nut pommel dates this sword to the late Viking / early Norman period, circa 950-1100. Comes complete with durable fiberglass epoxy resin scabbard with suspension hangers for wear.
